AVDRA ~ Rules Header

AVDRA has a few classes (i.e. Modern Support, Mini’s, & G.P. 4) that are not offered in some other regions of VMX racing, and AVDRA uses the A . . . A Rule Book as a rough guideline to follow. (Please see sections 11, 12, 13, & 15)

All classes will race 2 moto’s, usually 5 laps each, and scores from each moto will be added together to determine overall finishing positions.

AVDRA uses some different names for the classes we run because we don’t want to end up in court over “Trademark Infringement” rights.

We also offer a “Pre-70’s” class called “Classic Stock.” This class is for the biker that brought MX to the United States. For example, 4-Speed Husky, 5-Speed Ossa Stilletos, 5-Speed Cappra Montesa, Side Pipe CZ’s, Wide Frame Maico Square Barrels, Bux Tail Bultaco Pursangs and more…This class should take off.

The new “G.P. 4” class is to make a spot for the bikes from 1984 to 1989; the next generation of obsolete machines.

“G.P. 4-Stroke 9” is just for the long travel 4-Stroke machines with an extra 9” of travel or less, and “G.P. 4-Stroke 12” is for bikes with more than 9” of wheel travel at either end.

G.P. 5 Bikes class are from 1989 to 1999.

The “Modern Support” class is designed to let the vintage guys ride their modern machine on a much friendlier track than usual – no sizes, on ability. This class was intended to bring older riders on newer machines into the VMX & G.P. ranks. It was never the intention to run modern races, but to only have one class two moto’s. No championship awards will be given in Modern Support.

The mini class was added because we saw some members with younger kids leaving to modern races to share their racing experience with their kids. No with the mini class, both parents and kids are back racing together in the AVDRA.

“Adult Mini” - From the beginning of the regular mini class, adults wanted to have some more fun. So, at least 15 adults have also tried their hands in the “Adult Mini” class.

=New= “Women’s Open Class” – If the women can get together 6 entries, they will have their own moto. This “Women’s Open” class will be for any Woman/Girl on ANY size or age of bike. She may ride mini cycles in either class also.

AVDRA retains the right to refuse service to anyone.

From the beginning the AVDRA has had one main goal – to keep Vintage MX racing alive and growing. As time passes us, we have kids, wives, families and many distractions. If you can come to the track and forget your troubles for just a few minutes, then we have been a success.

This club is all about good times, memories, family and friends.

Please join us at our next race!
